Neoprene Socks Swimsuits

Neoprene was born to be a swimsuit material. The three-layer structure of neoprene fabrics, especially the middle layer of rubber, is water-resistant and can keep most of the cold water out of your body.

But a fine-designed diving suit does not mean the water can’t go in it, to the contrary, a diving suit properly lets in some water and traps it with all those cold waters, and a fine-fitting and well-designed swimsuit will trap this water layer very well and will not let too much cold water in.

  • By Thickness: 3mm to 6mm is the normal range of the swimsuit’ thickness, which can balance earth and mobility.

What factors can influence the right thickness of the diving suit choice?

  1. Water temperature is the main factor that can directly influence the thickness choice because a diving suit’s main function is to keep warm;
  2. Diving depth, the deeper we wear it to dive, the higher the thickness of the diving suit is needed, and mainly because high water pressure will weaken its warm-keeping ability.
  3. Diving frequency and diving time span, because diving suits’ thickness are not permanent after you get it, and the thickness will decrease with the experiences we diving. Like the 6mm diving suits will become 4mm after 1 year of scuba diving because the neoprene rubber is more solid under a long time of high water pressure.

How to choose the right thickness of a diving suit under different temperatures?

  • 2mm Diving suits: Ideal for water temperatures of 17–20°C.
  • 3/2mm Diving suits: Suitable for 14–18°C, offering a good mix of warmth and flexibility.
  • 4/3mm Diving suits: Perfect for 10–14°C, providing protection in chilly waters.
  • 5/4mm or 6/4mm Diving suits: Designed for 8–12°C, keeping you warm in very cold conditions.

Also, an individual’s tolerance to cold can also influence the thickness chosen.
